EAI - Applications in Marketing
Today’s post is just as amazing, I will be diving into the world of marketing and see how Emotional AI can renew the marketing universe.
Over the years, we have seen marketing and its strategies evolve drastically from a traditional, offline way of doing to a digital, online form. Digital marketing seemed to be the next big thing until Artificial intelligence (AI) came up and started showing its supremacy. The development of AI provides brands with ample opportunities to connect with the customers on an emotional level.
Since the companies are striving day in and day out to become more and more customer centric, nothing puts the customer more in the focus than actually noting down the real time expressions and emotions of the customer and personalizing services for them.
Sounds fascinating right? It is! In fact, many companies have already started implementing this technology to better serve the customers and understand customer behavior at the micro level. Walmart has installed this AI technology at many stores, where the sensors analyze the emotions of the customers and if anything seems wrong, an alert is sent to the Walmart Assistant who then attends the customer. Another fascinating example is, Disney. Yes! Your favorite childhood company is implementing this technology in movie theatres to see the audience expression. It is making use of the technology called: FVAE (Factorized Variational Auto Encoders), which captures people’s facial expressions during the movie and after capturing a certain data points, it is then able to predict when the audience will laugh/react next. This was performed on thousands of customers across multiple theatres, thus helping Disney getting the most accurate user review possible, as nothing compares to the real time expressions of the audience while watching the Disney movie.
Many industries have started applying this technology in various sectors to achieve the highest level of customer centricity. The future holds some exciting marketing campaigns, as I am sure these companies know you really well and it is about time that these companies will know more about you than you know about yourselves!
What next? Imagine Alexa stops you from calling your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend when you are feeling lonely!
